15 awesome Teamcenter shortcut keys.
15 awesome Teamcenter shortcut keys
One
of my personal favorites among the most useful features that Teamceter comes
with, is some awesome keyboard shortcut keys. I personally use them as much as I
can, to save time and I recommend the practice of using keyboard shortcuts to
others too.
Beside
the conventional shortcut keys like - Ctrl
+ X for Cut, Ctrl + C for Copy, Ctrl + V – paste, Delete – for delete operation, there are lot more Teamcenter shortcut keys.
This
article talks about 15 really cool Teamcenter shortcut keys. I can
bet that you don’t know all of them. Check them out, some of them will surprise
you for sure.
When you are working
on some project involved in various Teamcenter modules, switching between the
open perspectives is a pain. 1. Switch between open perspectives - Ctrl+F8 / Ctrl+Shift+F8
But not any more… use any of the following Teamcenter shortcut keys to change from the currently displayed open perspective to another open perspective:
To
go back to last accessed opened perspective, use Ctrl+Shift+F8. It will display an application opened before the
current application.
And
to go forward Ctrl+F8 to display an
application opened before the current application.
- Hold down Ctrl+F8 to display a Perspectives
menu, and then release F8 and use your mouse or your keyboard arrows to select
the perspective to display.

New creation operation
Creating a new item is the most commonly used operation in Teamcenter. So here we are, just choose the folder or the parent under which you want to create a new Item or similar action and fire Ctrl + *. The new creation wizard dialog box will be there waiting for you to complete the procedure. This bunch of new creation operations has shortcut keys as follows -
2. Create new Item - Ctrl + T.
4. Create new Dataset - Ctrl + D.
5. Create new Form - Ctrl + M.
6. Create new Workflow Process - Ctrl + P.
7. Create new CAE Item - Ctrl + E.
8. Create new other - Ctrl + H.
9.
Create new BOM View - Ctrl + B.
10. Open operation – Ctrl + O
Here
is one of the special Teamcenter shortcut keys Ctrl + O. This key basically stands for the open operation. Whatever
is there as the workspace object, open operation will be performed on it as per
the context. For example -
- In My Teamcenter, Ctrl+O used after selecting any Item then this operation will open the Item in My Teamcenter.
- While on the other hand if Ctrl+O is fired from System Engineering perspective after selecting any Requirement or Requirement Spec Item then you will get the structured Requirement Item opened in System engineering.
Structure Manager Shortcut keys
Here are some most important but almost unknown Teamcenter shortcut keys. All these three operations are most commonly used operations, here they are -11. Toggle precise imprecise - Ctrl + Shift + F.
12. Save BOM Window - Ctrl + S.
13. Remove BOMLine - Ctrl + R.
Miscellaneous
14.
Select any Teamcenter component (like Item, ItemRevisio,
Form, Dataset, Folder, etc)
and just by Alt + Enter you can view Properties of
this component.
15.
And finally when you want to exit from Teamcenter(
and enjoy your rest of the day ;) )here is the Teamceter shortcut keys Alt + F4.
So
start using these Teamcenter shortcut keys and save some of your precious time.
